Following extensive inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested by detectives at Liverpool Police Station yesterday (Friday 2 July 2021).

The man was charged with 16 offences including:

– groom child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity

– intentionally sexually touch child under 16 years (four counts)

– intentionally incite child under 16 years (sexual touch)

– meet/travel to meet child groomed for sexual activity

– counts of aggravated – sexual intercourse child (nine counts)

Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the teenage girl – then aged 13 – on multiple occasions between April 2020 and May 2020.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 3 July 2021).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
