#CoronavirusNewsDesk – Here’s a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction’s latest #COVID19 statistics today — Wednesday, April 20.

• ACT: No deaths, 63 cases in hospital
• NSW: Fifteen deaths, 1,639 cases in hospital
• NT: One death, 44 cases in hospital
• QLD: Six deaths, 594 cases in hospital
• SA: Two deaths, 252 in hospital
• TAS: No deaths, 56 cases in hospital
• VIC  Fourteen deaths, 437 cases in hospital
• WA: No deaths, 244 cases in hospital

Victoria

There have been another 14 COVID-19 deaths in the state.

There are 437 cases in hospital, with 34 of those in intensive care and 12 requiring ventilation.

There were 10,628 new cases today. 

New South Wales

The state has recorded 15 more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 1,639 cases in hospital, 72 of those in intensive care. 

There were 15,414 new cases announced today.

Queensland

Another six people have died with the virus.

There are 594 people in hospital, 25 of whom are in ICU.

The state has recorded 8,995 new cases and has 43,377 active cases.

Tasmania

There have been 1,819 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the state over the latest reporting period, up from yesterday’s 1,418.

There are now 8,902 active cases in the state, down from 8,953 yesterday.

There are 56 people in hospital with COVID-19, with 21 being treated specifically for the virus.

Two people are in ICU.

South Australia

SA has recorded another 4,256 cases of COVID-19 and two deaths, but the overall number of people currently considered infectious with the virus continues to decline.

There are now 28,573 known active cases of the virus in the state.

The latest deaths linked to the virus are men aged in their 60s and 80s.

There are now 252 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with 14 of them in intensive care.

Northern Territory

A woman in her 90s has died with COVID-19 in a Darwin aged care home, NT Health has confirmed.

The Territory today reported its highest daily caseload in more than six weeks.

A total of 594 new cases were identified in the latest reporting period, and 44 people are in hospital with the virus. Two are being treated in intensive care.

ACT

ACT authorities have recorded 1,180 new COVID-19 cases over the past day.

It is the highest daily total in almost two weeks.

Canberra hospitals now have 63 patients with the disease, two of whom are being treated in intensive care.

Western Australia

Western Australia has recorded 8,080 new cases of COVID-19 today.

There are 244 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with 10 in intensive care.

There are currently 39,921 known active cases in WA.
