“Your Highest Self only wants you to be at peace. It does not judge, compare, or demand that you defeat anyone, or be better than anyone.” – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Comparing yourself to someone else will usually leave you feeling down about yourself, less than, and hopeless.
That’s because we (almost) always compare ourselves to someone that has something we think we’re lacking. It’s a no-win situation right from the start.
And the truth is, there’s only two reasons why we’d compare ourselves to others…
- We’re already feeling insecure or not good enough about ourselves before any act of comparing takes place.
- We don’t know ourselves that well just yet.
When you catch yourself comparing yourself to others, first, stop the mental act of comparing.
Then consciously recognize the truth:
Their status, personal attributes, and achievements:
A) do NOT define you in any way at all and
B) don’t have any impact on your life whatsoever.
Your life is your life regardless of what someone else does.
So, choose to focus your attention on YOUR world and what you’re doing instead of on someone else’s world or what they’re doing.
