In this video, I tried chicken Thukpa at a local restaurant in Kurseong, a beautiful town surrounded by tea gardens and mountains. Chicken Thukpa is a popular dish in the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. It consists of noodles, chicken, vegetables, and broth, seasoned with spices and herbs.

However, I was not overly impressed by the taste of the Thukpa I had in Kurseong. It was not spicy enough for my liking, and the restaurant did not provide any Khorsani {local chili) Chutney or soya sauce to add some flavor. The price was only ninety rupees, which is quite cheap, but I expected more from the dish.
I have had better Thukpa experiences in other places, such as Sukna village in Darjeeling district, where the Thukpa was more flavorful and satisfying. I respect every community’s food and their taste preferences, but I think the Thukpa in Kurseong could be improved with some more spices and sauces.
Watch the video to see my reaction and rating of the Chicken Thukpa in Kurseong. If you have tried Thukpa before, let me know in the comments what you think of it. And if you have any suggestions for other dishes or places that I should try next, please share them with me.
