GlobalWarming & ClimateChange News Desk – This report from NetZero Watch outlines Labour Government plan

Messing about with boats
Labour was reported to be lauching a Net Zero crackdown on boat owners, who are to be forced to swap diesel engines for electric ones. Worse still, the government is said to be planning to have the UK rejoin the EU emissions trading scheme. With carbon prices much higher on the continent that in the UK, this will push up the price of everything.
Airport hypocrisy
A group of Labour MPs wrote to the Pakistani prime minister calling for a new airport to be built in Kashmir. Most were subsequently shown to have campaigned against expansion of Heathrow.
Ratcliffe warning on grid stability
INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe warned that Ed Miliband’s North Sea shutdown is raising the risk of blackouts across Britain. The Ineos chief accused the Government of “squeezing the life out of” the UK’s oil and gas sector, and piling pressure on the country’s strained power grid.
Zonal pricing slammed
The UK Energy Research Centre warned that zonal pricing, the Green Blob’s latest wheeze for making the grid more complex, would cost consumers billions of pounds every year.
Lords debate cost of Net Zero
The House of Lords debated the cost of Net Zero. Among the establishment speakers, there was much handwaving and regurgitation of received wisdom, but little apparent inclination to engage with data. With remarkable brass neck, Adair Turner claimed that nobody ever challenged the Climate Change Committee’s cost assumptions.
Scottish boiler ban to go
The SNP administration announced another Net Zero policy about-turn, abandoning plans to progressively ban gas boilers.
