THE ANGEL A LA TERRA FIRMA
Your eyes glance at the world in perpetual wonder
Like the first glimpse of the world of a child
I try to look deep into those eyes
That expresses the whole gamut of the human condition
But my gaze falter, the depths unfathomable
Although I can dimly perceive the most beautiful of souls
Submerged within like a pristine reef…
You are feature-perfect, the shapely nose
That endows it with a symmetry and harmony
Mystery, noticed in a Rubens portrait
The full lips tinted ruby red
Implied kisses dipped in wild honey
The denture strings of pearls of classic Akoya
The cheeks set in the smoothest porcelain
Your well designed ears placed close to the skull
Your golden tresses an Iguacu fall
The filaments flow downwards in sedate motion
In short, a visage that even angels envy
As your dainty feet tred the surface of terra firma!.
