The Stone Forest, also known as Shilin, is an impressive area of limestone formations spanning about 500 km2. It is situated in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, China.

The tall rocks emerge from the ground reminiscent of stalagmites, many resembling petrified trees, creating the impression of a stone forest.

Since 2007, two parts of the site, Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village, have been recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst.

The site is classified as a class Artist site.

These formations, resulting from the erosion of limestone, are estimated to be over 270 million years old.
