The Gentle Rain
The clouds gather dark and gray,
Hanging low across the sky.
A soft rumble in the distance,
Tells me the rain is nigh.
Drops start to fall so light,
Pattering upon the leaves.
A soothing sound to my ears,
As nature’s music weaves.
The rain picks up its pace,
Coming down in a steady flow.
Wetting the parched earth below,
Helping the flowers grow.
I stand beneath the trees,
Letting the raindrops fall on me.
Refreshing in its chill,
Washing all cares away.
The storm begins to pass,
The clouds start to drift apart.
Leaving the earth clean and new,
And bringing peace to my heart.
The gentle rain has come,
Nature’s gift from above.
Watering all with its touch,
Filling my soul with love.
