Not everyone has a heart like yours.
Most people won’t give as much as you do.
They’re more used to taking than giving, not because they want to, but because that’s all they know.
Carrying a heart as big as yours can be painful, leaving you feeling empty and drained.
While sharing your light is a beautiful gift, it can sometimes feel like a burden.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Being selective about who you give your heart, time, and energy to is perfectly fine.
It’s okay to step back from those who take more than they give, even if their intentions are good.
You have the right to be particular about who you allow into your life; it’s not selfish; it’s self-care.
You can’t meet everyone’s needs and take care of others all the time.
You’re allowed to your well-being.
After all, you can’t be there for the people you love if your tank runs empty.
