The natural man is born God’s enemy and is “at war” with God in his heart.
But even while we were enemies, God sent his Son to die for us.
Peace with God can only come when our sins which have offended him are dealt with, and that can only happen when the merit of Christ is applied to us.
Then we are declared just before God by God Himself.
Thank you, Lord, for sending your Son to make peace with us, not by turning a blind eye to our sins but by paying for them on the cross.
We know you are just and will be a just judge when you judge the world.
We pray for our neighbours and friends and family that they may run to you for mercy and find it while the door of mercy is still open if they have not already found peace with you.
