Have you ever heard the saying, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you?” It means that if you prioritise your faith and do what’s right, everything else will fall into place. It’s a powerful reminder to focus on what truly matters in life.
Do you recall learning in school about conditional statements? For instance, “IF you wash your clothes, THEN they’ll be clean.” In today’s verse, you may wonder what things will be given to you. Jesus previously spoke about the beautiful clothing of the lilies, the food and drink that we all require, and how our Heavenly Father knows our necessities. Jesus then invites us, you and me, to trust in God’s love as we live and work, stating that IF we actively seek His reign in our lives and live accordingly, THEN all these things are guaranteed. This is the truth.
“Dear Lord, I humbly request your assistance in living my life in accordance with the principles of your kingdom. I acknowledge that by getting my priorities straight with the help of your Spirit, everything else will fall into place. I ask you to reign in me, Lord. Amen.”
