Once upon a happy summer day, two friends were out for a leisurely walk when they stumbled upon a magnificent plane tree. Tired and sweaty, they decided to rest under its cool and inviting shadow. While they were lying down, one of the friends exclaimed, “This tree is of no use to us! It doesn’t provide us with any fruits or nuts to munch on, nor can we use its wood for anything.”
The tree rustled and replied, “Oh, dear friend! Do not be ungrateful. At this very moment, I am being of great service to you by shielding you from the hot, sweltering sun. That is my purpose!”
This story reminds us to appreciate and value the blessings we have in our lives. Even the things we might think are insignificant can bring joy and comfort to us. The beauty and wonder of the world around us are reasons enough to be happy and thankful every day.
