Baby Camel and Mother
A baby camel asked its mother some questions while they were relaxing. “Momma,” the baby inquired, “why do we have humps?”
“Well, baby,” the mother replied, “we need those humps to store water. Since we are desert animals, we can survive without water for some time because of them.”
The baby was intrigued and asked another question, “Why are our legs so long and our feet rounded?”
“Those long legs are perfect for walking in the desert, little one,” explained the momma. “With them, I can move around easily!”
Feeling a little annoyed, the baby asked one final question, “Why are our eyelashes so long? They’re always in my face.”
The momma proudly replied, “Those long, thick lashes protect your eyes from the sand and wind in the desert, little one. They act as a protective cover.”
The baby was like, “I get it now. So the hump is for storing water when we’re in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these lashes save my eyes from the desert. Then, why the heck are we here in the Zoo!?”
