The time has come for the winds of change
They come and they go
Every week, every day, every hour, every moment
We feel them brush past us as they flow
They bring with them a chain reaction
Evolution, separation, and alteration
For nothing in this world lasts forever
Not even the fondest affection
The winds of change make us laugh, make us cry
We weep until our tears run dry
A child leaves the home he has always known
And walks far and far away
Not even glancing back on the way
The scared child is pushed out into the world
He wishes for the lap in which he once curled
The loving touch of his mother’s hand
The warm feeling of a friendship band
Hearts are broken, and young lovers die
When the freezing winds of change fly
But the child knows no one in this new world
In which he is harshly hurled
Go make some money, go get a job
Don’t you dare fail, don’t you ever even sob
He is no longer a child, deeply loved
But a shadow of a man in this cut throat world
He makes a choice, he stops his own heart
The winds of change have torn him apart.
