THE TALKING PARROT
Once upon a time, a cheerful lady decided she wanted a talking parrot to brighten her days. Excitedly, she visited a pet shop and shared her wish with the friendly shop owner. With a gleam in his eye, he replied, “Yes, madam! I have just the parrot for you!”
He led her to a vibrant, colourful parrot perched happily in a spacious cage. The owner explained, “If you pull the string on the left leg, he’ll chirp, ‘Hi, how are you?’ And if you give the string on the right leg a tug, he’ll respond, ‘I’m fine, thank you!’”
Intrigued and amused, the lady asked, “But what happens if I pull both strings simultaneously?” With a cheeky glint in his eye, the parrot squawked, “Then I would fall from this perch, you silly lady!”
Both the lady and the shop owner burst into laughter, and she knew right then that this parrot was sure to bring joy and laughter into her home!
