When I said, “I love you,” it was more than just a phrase; it was a heartfelt offering of my deepest self.
I didn’t simply mean I was fleetingly attracted to you; I meant that I need you in a way that feels intrinsic like the earth relies on the sun or my lungs depend on air.
When I said, “I love you,” I meant that you are my safe haven, my place of comfort and belonging. I longed to share my essence with you, to understand your thoughts and feelings, and to embrace the unspoken emotions within your silences.
I would willingly set aside pieces of myself to support you, to help you become whole, serving as the missing piece you never realised you were seeking.
