The Toghrol Tower, standing at a height of 20 meters, is situated in Rey, Iran.
This impressive structure, built in 1063, consists of bricks and Sarooj, a water-resistant mortar.
While some sources suggest that it was erected as the final resting place of Tuğrul Beg, the esteemed founder of the Seljuk dynasty, others argue that it functioned as a vital lighthouse, guiding travellers on the renowned Silk Road during periods of fog and darkness.
Notably, the tower underwent significant renovations in 1922 and was last restored in 2000.
