Time to go to bed
The sun has fled
Darkness is spread
A long night ahead.
You sleep in my arms
Enclosed within
The ambit of my embrace
Safely, protectively, warmly.
Your pretty head
Resting against my chest
Your breath sweet on my face
Dense lashes locked in slumber
Bosom rising and falling
To the tune of my heartbeats.
You move softly
Your eyes open languidly
A half smile colors your cheeks
I gather you closer
Run my fingers thru your hair
You are asleep again
Dissolving in my arms
In deep slumber.
The room is cool
Night velvet
My mind at rest
The happiness of mine
Now complete.
