For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Lose your life to find life.
This is one of the great paradoxes of the Christian faith.
But when we understand that the life this world offers is incomplete and ultimately leads to death, we start to make sense of Jesus’ words.
When we surrender to the life that Jesus calls us to, we become fully alive, people of hope, free to pursue the pursuits of God’s kingdom instead of the temporal dreams that the world offers.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me new life.
I surrender my life to You and ask that You use me where You want to.
You have given me hope and security and made me a citizen of Your kingdom.
Fill me with Your Spirit so I may live a life worthy of Your name for Your kingdom’s sake.
