My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
As Christians, we sometimes face opposition and danger simply for faithfully following Jesus. As much as we would like God to keep us from all threats, sometimes He allows us to experience risk to reveal his righteousness. When Daniel survived the lions’ den, the king knew, without a doubt, that God had rescued Daniel and was just.
Lord, give me the courage to stand firm in You when danger comes my way. Help me to remain faithful, even if others persecute me for Your sake. Give me perseverance so I may not deny Your name or seek vengeance against those who oppose me. Instead, help me to abide in You while I wait for Your trust and righteousness to be revealed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
