For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
The company that we keep can significantly impact our joy and peace.
We could have the most lavish comforts and luxuries, but if we’re surrounded by evil and mistreatment, we’d still be miserable.
By contrast, menial work and poverty cannot rob us of our joy when we are in the presence of the Lord.
Being near the door of His telling place is better than being in luxury apart from Him.
Lord, I long to be near to You.
Sometimes the comforts of this life lead me to wicked places.
Help me to seek You first and experience the joy of Your presence no matter what life brings.
The riches of life cannot satisfy the way You do, so thank You for leading me to find peace and satisfaction in You alone.
