We all understand the struggle with anxiety, especially in today’s fast-paced world, where it feels like stress is a constant companion. We yearn for peace for our bodies and souls, yet it often seems out of reach. The beautiful truth is that Jesus invites us to worry less and trust him more. In Matthew 11:29, he gently encourages us: “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls.”🙌
Jesus wants to help us navigate our burdens. He understands what we carry and offers a way that isn’t hurried or overwhelming. His approach is rooted in a gentle and humble heart, designed to bring us life rather than weariness. By observing how Jesus lived, we can discover the keys to finding peace and purpose in our own lives. 🫂
It’s important to remember that learning to live like Jesus is a journey. Just as we didn’t accumulate stress and exhaustion overnight, we won’t master this new way of being instantly either. But as we slowly learn to trust him—no matter how long it takes—we can embrace gentleness and humility.🫂
You might wonder how such qualities could possibly alleviate the stresses we face. Gentleness and humility sometimes feel far removed from what we think would help, like increased endurance or unrelenting stamina. But the truth is that aggression and arrogance often amplify our stress and feelings of emptiness. 🫂
When we’re impatient and refuse to wait, we risk becoming overwhelmed—this is the essence of aggression. Similarly, when we try to control every situation, our ego can swiftly lead us into a cycle of stress that feels unbreakable. 🫂
The antidote to the pressures we encounter lies in finding gentleness and humility. By reminding ourselves daily that we are not in control of everything and don’t have to be anyone’s saviour, we open ourselves to rest. Spending time with Jesus helps us cultivate these precious qualities, guiding us toward a life filled with peace and serenity. You’re not alone in your struggle; together, we can learn to embrace a gentler way of living.🫂
