We have all been joyously chosen to be disciples of God, entrusted with the glorious mission of spreading the Good News about the Kingdom’s imminent arrival! Though we may feel a flutter of apprehension deep within, much like Jeremiah, let us remember that just as God reassured him with promises of support, He stands with us, ready to guide and empower us. Without the brave and fervent witness of the early disciples, the beautiful story of Jesus might remain untold, lost to time. Now, without our willingness to share this message, how will future generations come to embrace Him?
We need not be burdened by uncertainty over our words or the opinions of others. God is beside us, igniting our hearts with courage and bestowing the perfect words when the moment calls for them.
Our purpose is to eagerly seek out opportunities to share our faith! I recall a vibrant moment on a cruise ship where the sun sparkled on the water, and a woman stood alongside me. Our conversation drifted toward God, and suddenly, a lively exchange about our faith, trust, and confidence in Him unfolded. It felt like a divine connection, and it didn’t matter if anyone else tuned in — we were lost in the joy of our shared beliefs!
Sometimes, these inspiring conversations ignite when a friend shares about a loved one facing illness, and we can offer to pray for them, wrapping them in love and hope. At other times, a political ad or stirring speech can act as a spark for discussion. Quite often, in the aftermath of a tragedy, whether a devastating storm or a heartbreaking event, we find ourselves compelled to reflect and converse.
In every instance, let’s be open and genuine about our faith and be ready to listen to the diverse views of others. We are appointed to this vibrant mission, and embracing the responsibility to spread the Good News is truly a joyous honour!
