Have you ever had the pleasure of knowing someone who radiates kindness?
Someone who selflessly offers their help and support without being asked, always seeking out ways to lift others and encourage them? This embodies loving-kindness, a quality we have explored in depth over the past two days.
To truly understand loving-kindness, we must look to our heavenly Father as the ultimate example.
He is the epitome of kindness, compassion, and generosity, and He inspires us to follow in His footsteps by showing love and service to those around us in all that we do.
“Then the trees of the woods will sing for joy before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, and His loving-kindness endures forever.
Say, “Set us free, O God Who saves us.
Father and save us from among the nations so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and find joy in Your praise.” – I Chronicles 16:33-35 (NLV)
The loving-kindness of our God is everlasting.
Although we have not yet reached eternity, His loving-kindness continues to reach out to us.
When we walk in mindfulness of the Lord and exemplify His loving-kindness in all that we do, our families, co-workers, and neighbours will take notice.
We become vessels filled with His love.
The grace of the Lord brings His loving-kindness into our lives, which fills us with His goodness until we overflow like a cup.
As it is written in Psalm 23:5b-6 NLT, “You honour me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love (loving-kindness) will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”
Loving-kindness is the act of loving to be kind.
Kindness is always at the forefront, resulting in loving actions.
Time and again, the Bible tells us that Jesus was moved with compassion.
He saw with His heart and then acted in a way that made a difference.
Loving-kindness.
“Loving and loving–kindness and peace are ours as we live in truth and love.
These come from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Son of the Father.” I John 2:3 NLV
Be grateful today that our Father loves to be known
