I understand that sometimes it may be tempting to boast about one’s accomplishments, but we need to remember that this is not what matters the most. Instead, we should focus on having faith and believing in ourselves. It’s not about doing good deeds to prove our worth, but rather about trusting that we are enough just the way we are. Ultimately, it’s our faith that justifies us, not our actions.
It’s exciting to know that God designed the Gospel, His plan of salvation, in a way that prevents humans from boasting. Paul makes it clear that boasting is not just minimised, but it is excluded. This doesn’t mean that people cannot make wrongful boasts, but it means that there are no valid grounds for boasting about our salvation. So, let’s be humble and grateful for the salvation we have received through God’s grace.
As Christians, we must remember that we should never give off the impression of being boastful. We live in a world that often equates boasting with self-confidence and considers it a virtue. However, as believers in Christ, we know that boasting is not a legitimate way of expressing ourselves. We know that everything we have is a gift from God, and we should not take credit for things we did not accomplish on our own. May the Lord help us to maintain a humble posture and always remain grateful for His blessings. Amen.
