And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
God asks us to do two things with the earth; populate it and care for it. He created the world, all of the animals, and us. And now, He invites us, His image-bearers, to be participants in His creative work as we fill the world and nurture its inhabitants for the glory of our Creator.
Lord, thank you for making me in Your image and calling me to carry on Your work in the world. Instill in me a creative mind so that I may honor You by caring for Your creation. Teach me to bring forth the beauty that glorifies You wherever You lead me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
