It’s hard to miss the constant news headlines about Sydney’s deadly gangland conflict which has seen more than a dozen people killed in the past two years. 

But there’s another gang war being waged in the city’s western suburbs, where the battlelines are drawn between postcodes.

For young people in these areas, catching the train to the wrong neighbourhood can get them stabbed and sometimes killed.

I’ve spent the past couple of months with the young men living with this conflict every day. They are at the centre of the postcode wars. 

They’ve let me into their world of crime and violence which is often referenced in lyrics of the drill music they perform and listen to. 

In this Four Corners investigation, we reveal the links between kids in street gangs and some of Australia’s notorious crime families.

It’s worth a watch.
