Growth ~
When you embrace your new faith, you are given a fresh start, but that doesn’t mean the old habits and patterns disappear.
It’s common to feel hesitant to face the truth about ourselves.
Sometimes, we build our identities around our weaknesses, thinking things like, “It’s just like me to be…” or “That’s just the way I am.”
We might worry that letting go of our habits, hurts, or hang-ups might change who we are.
This fear can really slow down our growth.
The good news is that when we open ourselves up to God’s light, we can shine a spotlight on our areas that need improvement.
This is why a humble and teachable attitude is essential for our journey.
Remember, developing good habits takes time.
Your character is shaped by your habits, and you can’t claim to have integrity if honesty isn’t part of your daily routine.
The great thing is that you can cultivate habits that reflect Christlike character, but it takes practice—lots of it!
These habits are often called “spiritual disciplines,” they include things like meditation, prayer, fasting, Bible study, simplicity, stewardship, solitude, submission, service, and evangelism.
Embrace this journey, and enjoy the growth that comes with it!@peacewriter51
