I woke up in the morning
Feeling fresh and energized.
Leaped up out of bed in excitement
It is another day, seemingly better day.
Looked out of the window
The sun is smiling at me brightly
Having set the looming clouds to flee.
I looked at the trees, the verdant foliage
Shimmering, backlit by the rays of the sun
Incandescent, in its immensity,
Birds are singing on every possible tree
Nature’s Philharmonic Orchestra
Giving full force to the feathery throats
In a myriad of colors and designs and motifs.
The breeze blowing caressingly
The meandering brook giggling like little girls
The sounds like an unguent on frayed nerves.
The world seems suddenly metamorphosed
Into something better, enhanced
Updated positively, well-meaningly
Bereft of innuendos, talking behind the back,
Conspiracy, agent provocateurs,
Jealousy so green, nature’s put to shame
Suspicion, derogation, insinuation, dark intent
Muted conversations in dark corners.
I sip my morning tea, feeling like a feather
Ready to float, down the air streams
Spin crazily in the air pockets, that wobble me.
I feel a strange sense of freedom,
The scales that bound my eyes
Are peeling off slowly, drops to the ground.
My tympanums register positive sounds
Not the serpent whispering on the apple tree
Seductive, scheming, to climb wagons.
I love what I see, I celebrate what I hear
I adore what I touch, I am thrilled at what I feel
I stand straight and tall and victorious;
The sturdy limbs, the lean torso, the light head
And close my eyes, in adoration of a new day
Solemn, head down, grateful, meditative.
Feeling me, refreshed cell by new cell
I am alive and kicking still, by Gawd, hahaha.
