
Two people including a British national were killed Tuesday and nine people seriously injured when a bus in Montenegro plunged off a ravine.
Local police said at about 12.10pm local time that a bus operated by Papović Bus tumbled off the main road and down a 20m-deep cliff.
The coach carrying 30 passengers rammed into a roadside barrier in Obzovica, in the mountainous region of Cetinje, for some 15m before breaking through.
One passenger told the state RTCG radio: ‘I was listening to music and all was normal. Then all of sudden there were screams and the sound of glass breaking.’
The force confirmed at 2pm on X, formerly known as Twitter, that two people died at the scene.
Montenegrin newspaper DAN reported that they included a British man identified by the initials AND, 66, and 19-year-old AB from the Montenegrin capital Podgorica.
