Background / What’s happened?
A CrowdStrike software update has led to outages impacting Windows systems.
Systems may experience Blue Screens of Death (BSOD), sudden shutdowns, and other usability issues.
Crowd strikes advise that this issue is unrelated to a cyber security incident or malicious activity.
CrowdStrike have released remediation guidance for customers, available via their CrowdStrike Customer Portal. Affected customers are advised to follow CrowdStrike guidance.
Mitigation / How do I stay secure?
CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by the outage and has issued a statement on their blog. Affected customers should review and inact the remediation advice available on the CrowdStrike blog which will be updated as the situation evolves.
Assistance / Where can I go for help?
ASD’s ACSC is monitoring the situation and is able to provide assistance and advice as required. Organisations or individuals that have been impacted or require assistance can contact us via 1300 CYBER1 (1300 292 371).
