#AceNewsReport – Aug.17: Police confirmed that a man in his sixties was found deceased in the water and that inquiries were continuing.

#AceDailyNews says a man in his 60s found dead in swell at Surfers Point in Margaret River Police and emergency services attended the car park at Surfers Point in Prevelly, about 10 minutes’ drive from the Margaret River town centre: Reports of the fatality came through about 2:00pm….

It is understood fellow surfers helped bring the man’s body ashore: It was the second major incident in a matter of hours at surf breaks in Margaret River: On Monday morning a man was flown to Royal Perth Hospital after he was injured at the surf break near the river mouth about 10:00am:

He is believed to be in a stable condition.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s Matt Boterhoven said the swell was about three metres high in the Margaret River region, with easterly winds about 20kph.
