Redevelopment plans would result in Coles doubling in size and 77 residential units being built, but there are plenty of Thirroul residents who aren’t happy about the proposal to develop the local plaza. Proponent says the project could generate 2000 jobs
No Auslan tutors available for local child
Twelve months ago, when Tilly Linturn’s NDIS funding was approved, her parents were hopeful that their daughter would finally get the help she needed to learn Auslan. Now they’re getting desperate. What can the family do?
Blindness no barrier for local jewellery maker
Making jewellery is tricky at the best of times, let alone if you can’t see. Shellharbour’s Keely Payne is legally blind, but that doesn’t stop her creating vibrant and intricate beaded jewellery. She uses braille and her finely-tuned sense of touch — and she’s turning it from a hobby into a business.
