A Bar ~ TEXAS COWBOY

“A. BAR!” a. poem! May 24, 2019 [Freya’s Day]

There’s-a-place, where you can come and drink,

Poison! (pause) and-talk-“death-talk!” ’til you STINK,

OF-THE POISON [which] you-have-drunk!

You-can-stay UNTIL you-smell-like-“a-skunk,”
OR! until-you-SCARE-“the-other-regular-patrons,”

With – screaming or crying or-various-other-HATE-trons!*

Stay-as-long-as-you-like IF you-have-“cash-to-bear!”
“Bearer Bonds!” They’re-called-over-here!

So, with cash and manners well in hand,
You-can-come-for-some-poison! and-maybe-a-band,
Which can play some tunes – of romance and loss!

IF YOU SEE-HIM-THERE, BUY-A-BREW FOR YOUR BOSS!And tip-the-waitress! or-the-waiter, if-you-please;
Talk of death – and-“the-birds-and-the-bees!”

Lose [remember] inhibitions that-your-society-has-placed,

In(to)-your-“craw,” and-forget-what-you’ve-faced,

That-was “bad”-that-day! or-whenever in-your-life

And/or – GET AWAY! from-your-nagging-wife!

OR – Get-away-from-the-spousal-abuse-of-your-hus-BAND,

Who-may-now-be search-ing for-“more comf’able-e- lAnd,”
Like – other women to-love to-night!!

HE-MIGHT-BE-AT-THE-BAR, but – You-two-CAN’T-fight,
For-IF-you-do you’ve-both-VIO-LATED-“The Be Calm Law!”

REMEMBER? [again, it is:] “Drink-as-much-as-you-like, but-it’s-a-‘flaw,’

To: NOT-be-flashin’-money- and-don’t-scare-people-or-brawl!”
